The Seminary Fund
The Seminary Fund: Western’s backbone of support
Your gift to the Seminary Fund makes a direct impact on our students by helping us meet our operating needs without passing those costs along to students in the form of tuition. Through your generosity, students will be able to enter ministry prepared to be pastors, teachers and counselors without carrying an overwhelming burden of student loan debt.
A planned gift is one that you promise to give, but defer until a later date. Planned giving allows you to give a significant donation to Western Theological Seminary without jeopardizing your current or future obligations. Often, there are significant tax advantages to planned giving and planned gifts can be arranged to produce an income to you for life. There are many ways to give a planned gift.

Establishing a Scholarship
Donors are making a difference! At Western, more than 70% of Master of Divinity students receive financial aid through scholarships. With a minimum investment of $25,000, given at one time or over a period of years, you can set up an endowed scholarship to help these future church leaders. Giving to Western through securities that have appreciated significantly in value may provide you a substantial tax advantage.
If you own a home or other property you no longer need and you would like to make a charitable gift to Western, giving real property may be an efficient way to meet both goals.
Corporate Matching Gifts
More than 1,000 companies help to increase the gifts of their employees (and sometimes retirees) by matching their gifts. For every dollar you give to Western Theological Seminary, your employer may match it.
