WTS faculty are always available to guide and support students as they pursue their education. As importantly, our professors are deeply involved in congregational ministry and several offer the unique perspectives of having served as pastors.

Western Theological Seminary is thrilled to introduce the new Graduate Certificate in Restorative Justice. In partnership with the Hope-Western Prison Education Program (HWPEP), this certificate program lays a foundation for restorative justice ministries and restorative practices in the Christian faith.

Today, we gathered as a seminary community to welcome the start of a new school year! President Dr. Felix Theonugraha offered a meditation on Colossians 3:12-17, and we joined in song and prayer for the year ahead.

We are so excited to have had the Spiritual Formation and Relational Neuroscience Doctor of Ministry cohort on campus this week!
As we prepare for the new academic year at WTS, President Dr. Felix Theonugraha extends a word of encouragement to both new and returning students, reflecting on the 2024-2025 theme verse, Colossians 3:15a.
The Church of Refugia Doctor of Ministry cohort spent a week together this past June on the Isle of Iona off the coast of Scotland. While there, the cohort worshipped at the restored abbey, worked on their thesis chapters, shared meals every evening, and met with their cohort mentors, Rev. Dr. Ron Rienstra and Dr. Debra Rienstra. Meanwhile, they observed how the modern-day Iona community models a located-but-dispersed refugia group. It was a time of experiential learning, fruitful rest, mutual support, and small adventures among the wild beauties of the island.
The Eugene Peterson Center for Christian Imagination is hosting its first webinar on Tuesday, September 10, from 7pm – 8:15pm EST.
Dr. Winn Collier and Dr. Mandy Smith will join forces to discuss the highs and lows, joys and challenges, opportunities and temptations of being a pastor and a writer. This webinar is for those who are already established in ministry and writing, those just beginning, and those curious to learn more.
