Summary of Responsibilities

Provide overall administrative support for all aspects of the Distance Learning program.

 Essential duties and responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

    * Develop a sound understanding of the overall DL program values as well as the specific characteristics of the WTS distance courses and students.
    * Serve as the main contact person within the Distance Learning department, handling or forwarding issues as appropriate.  Work collaboratively with other Distance Learning team members to provide seamless support to students, faculty, staff and prospective students.
    * Maintain the virtual Distance Learning office within the on-line learning environment by updating, editing and organizing information in a timely and accurate manner.
    * Track, monitor and communicate key dates and deadlines in the distance learning program to students and faculty.
    * Maintain the department director’s calendar and scheduling.
    * Proactively seek to improve departmental functions and processes.
    * Perform a variety of administrative tasks including correspondence, editing documents, updating departmental calendar, responding to e-mails, processing check requests, booking meeting rooms, filing, and making copies.
    * Other duties as assigned.

    * Ability to communicate in person and online in a timely and informative manner demonstrating warmth, listening with respect and engendering positive relationships across a diverse population of students and co-workers.
    * Ability to work both in a self-directed manner and as part of a collaborative team.
    * Ability to take initiative, multi-task and meet daily and weekly priorities with minimum supervision while consistently meeting deadlines and managing multiple open projects.
    * Ability to consistently implement past program decisions into the practices of the program.
    * Commitment to embrace the values of the seminary for hospitality and the distance learning program’s expectation of consistent quality in work performance.
    * Commitment to expand skills and knowledge required to support the distance learning program.
    * Strong knowledge of professional correspondence, communication protocol and etiquette.

 Qualifications

    * Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
    * 3-5 years of work experience that includes evidence of strong communication, organizational, customer service and problem solving skills.
    * High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
    * Experience with digital or web applications a plus.
