Madison Pierce

Associate Professor of New Testament

Dr. Madison N. Pierce joined the faculty at Western Theological Seminary in 2022. Her research areas include the book of Hebrews, the use of Scripture in Scripture, and the Catholic Epistles.

She published her Ph.D. thesis, Divine Discourse in the Epistle to the Hebrews, in 2020 with Cambridge University Press, and she also has co-edited two collections of essays—Gospel Reading and Reception in Early Christian Literature (CUP, 2022) with Andrew J. Byers and Simon Gathercole as well as Muted Voices of the New Testament (T&T Clark, 2017) with Katherine M. Hockey and Francis Watson.

Dr. Pierce is an active member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the Institute for Biblical Research. She enjoys serving the Church through preaching, reading Scripture, and assisting in distributing the Lord’s Supper. She and her family (Curtis and Isla) enjoy music, time outdoors, travel, and their beloved dog Izzy.
