Western Theological Seminary is excited to announce a new partnership with A Rocha USA, a leading organization dedicated to environmental stewardship, which has been awarded a significant grant of $625,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc. As part of the Thriving Congregations Initiative, this grant marks the inception of the eagerly anticipated church partners program.

The Symposium on Disability and Ministry is an annual opportunity for pastors and ministry leaders to engage in issues related to disability and ministry. Join us in one month for the 2024 symposium on Saturday, July 13.
Dr. Rochelle Sheuermann of Wheaton College will deliver a plenary lecture entitled “Disability and God’s Mission: An Invitation to Evangelism.”

Intercultural Immersion experiences offer students the opportunity to travel to other cultural contexts to experience the diverse character of the church’s witness and mission.
As part of a May 2024 Intercultural Immersion course, students traveled to the US-Mexico border with Dr. Madison Pierce as their guide. The group partnered with Frontera de Gracia ministries to serve and learn near El Paso, TX, and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.

Each year, the Faith and Illness Initiative, hosted by the Girod Chair at WTS, brings together scholars, pastors, medical professionals, and students to explore a pressing topic related to chronic illness at the intersection of deep theological engagement and practical ministry.
Applications for the second-year colloquy are open! If you are interested in diving deep into early Christian and modern perspectives on chronic pain and Christian discipleship, we invite you to apply for the three-day colloquy group, which will take place September 16-18, 2024.
